Our Lady of the Rosary

October 7 @ 5:40 pm

Her words and memories bursting with love for Jesus overflow as you walk together – one bead at a time. She draws you into Jesus’ childhood, public ministry, suffering and glory. You see Baby Jesus’ littleness as He rests in Joseph’s arms. Jesus’ powerful voice reaches you from His seat on the Mount of Beatitudes. Breath catches in your throat as Jesus falls under the weight of the Cross, and again later when St. Thomas drops to his knees before the Risen Christ and cries “My Lord and my God!”

As you walk with Mary, over time you will discover that, not only does she share memories with you, but she also listens to your heart. She is attentive. She responds as your loving Mother by gently placing before your eyes certain aspects of Jesus’ life relevant to your needs. It may be that Jesus’ call for Peter to “Come!” amidst the rolling waves prompts you to confront with faith the storm in your own life. Perhaps, at Elizabeth and Mary’s reunion, you may receive Mary’s loving greeting to you. Or the thief’s desperate cry may jar your heart and incite you to plead for mercy too.

These are graces available to you through the Rosary. It is a wonderful way to spend quality time with our Blessed Mother, learning to see and do what she did best: love Jesus!

Happy feast of Our Lady of the Rosary!
