On Sunday, September 5, 2010, the Dominican friars gathered together in Chapter in the city of Rome elected Fr. Bruno Cadoré, OP, of the Province of France, as the new Master of the Order of Friars Preachers and the 86th successor to St. Dominic.

Please join us as we keep our new Master General in prayer. May our good Lord bless him as he takes up the important task of leading the Order of Preachers in the world today. More information about the General Chapter in Rome can be found on the official Order of Preachers website.

First Profession of Vows

May God be praised! On August 6th, 2010 eight of our Sisters made their first profession of vows. It seemed appropriate that our Sisters should don their new veils on the feast of the Transfiguration. Please join with us in congratulating Sister Maria Silva,O.P., Sister Maria Catherine Toon, O.P., Sister Mary Edmund Morrow,O.P., Sister Catherine Thomas Brennan, O.P., Sister Teresa Paul Hill, O.P., Sister Louis Marie Zogg, O.P., Sister Maria Miguel Wright, O.P. and Sister Mary Philomena Coon, O.P.

The Sisters would especially like to thank Bishop Blair (Diocese of Toledo, MI) and all our dear priests who graced us with their priestly presence!

Chastity, Poverty and Obedience

God couldn't have graced us with a more glorious and sunshiny day as five of our Sisters professed perpetual vows of chastity, poverty and obedience! The whole world seemed to be smiling at Christ the King Church in Ann Arbor, Michigan on August 4th, 2010. There were no smiles however, that could rival those found lighting up the faces of Sr. Emmanuel Gross, O.P., Sr Mary Elizabeth Merriam, O.P., Sr. Maria Rose Metzger, O.P., Sr. Mary Cecilia Niewiadomska, O.P., and Sr. Mary Michael Carlton, O.P. as they made the vows. The Sisters would especially like to thank Bishop Boyea (Diocese of Lansing, MI), Bishop Vann (Diocese of Fort Worth, TX) and Bishop Wall (Diocese of Gallup, NM) and all our dear priests who graced us with their priestly presence!

A Summer Snowstorm!

Our 11 postulants exchanged their blue vests a little early this year!! In a simple private ceremony conducted in the Motherhouse Chapel, all the Sisters eagerly awaited Mother's announcement of each new name before receving from her hands the much desired holy habit of St. Dominic. We now find ourselves in a flurry of white!
