In the 2021-2022 school year, the Sisters began a new mission at Bishop Louis Reicher Catholic School in Waco, Texas. Sister Maximilian Marie and Sister Maria Benedicta have taught theology and humanities (respectively) in the upper school, while Sister Maria Francisco and Sister Mary Rita have taught middle school math and second grade.

It has been a busy year! The Sisters have set up a temporary convent in a renovated house located a few miles from the parish and school. Throughout the year, they met many kind and generous benefactors who contributed (both monetarily and by their prayers) to the Sisters’ ability to start the Waco mission. A tremendous blessing of the year has been the chance to finally meet and personally thank so many faithful men and women for their generosity.

In April, the Sisters had the great joy of seeing three students from the upper school received into the Church at the Easter Vigil and during the Easter Octave. The end of April brought even more sacramental joy when Sister Mary Rita’s second graders received Jesus for the first time in the Eucharist! To participate in the sacramental journey of our students this year has been a profound grace, as the joy of our students reminds us never to take for granted the great gifts that we receive daily from Christ in the Sacraments.

The Sisters look forward to returning to Waco for another year and are excited to see what plans the Holy Spirit has for Bishop Louis Reicher Catholic School!
