We have had an eventful and joyous year in San Francisco! Below are just a few of our highlights:

The missionary image of Our Lady of Guadalupe was sent from Mexico on a pilgrimage to Marin Catholic High School. We had the image for a week and during that time had Eucharistic Adoration, class visits, and home visits for families who needed some extra graces. The presence and intercession of Mary was tangible and felt by all.
The Sisters lead the Sacraments program on campus and this year six students received their Sacraments: three receiving all the Sacraments of Initiation. Archbishop Cordileone came and personally conferred the Sacraments before the entire student body. The Mass was beautiful…There were nine servers, four priests, a full choir with instruments, a beautiful altar and flowers, incense…everything needed to make the Mass solemn and sacred. It was the first time the Sacraments were given at an all school Mass and the students were in awe. Several came up afterwards and said they want to join the Sacraments program next year. Praise God!
The relic of St. John Vianney’s heart came to the school. We hosted all the local youth groups and had a Holy Hour with veneration of the relics following. One young man said he heard God calling him to be a priest when he knelt before the relic…pray for him!
We attended the Walk for Life. On the West Coast the feel is a little different—the walk is smaller and the opposing side larger—but the marchers all came with smiles and joy. Our message was clear: life is sacred and life is good.
Student retreats are plentiful but up till now, no retreat was offered just for women. We put on the first all-girls retreat, “Radiant Joy.” The students loved it and want a retreat just like it next year.
Ten young women from Marin Catholic High School flew out to MI with the Sisters to attend the discernment retreat. They returned beaming and full of joy. Several found their vocations, and all found a place where they felt renewed, supported, and loved. Requests to attend the retreat next year have already come in by the dozens.
