One of the special blessings for the Sisters living in Rome is the privilege of visiting so many holy sites connected to our faith and Dominican heritage! The Sisters visited Siena and Montepulciano and venerated the relics of Dominican saints Catherine of Siena and Agnes of Montepulciano. They prayed Vespers in the small chapel near the room in St. Catherine’s parents’ home where she received many extraordinary mystical graces! The Sisters began Lent with Ash Wednesday Mass celebrated by Pope Francis at the mother church of the Order of Preachers, Santa Sabina. During Lent, the Sisters joined the North American College community for the traditional Station Mass pilgrimages. This ancient custom, revived by the North American College in the ’60s, invites participants to make a pilgrimage to ancient Roman churches – a different church each day – for an early morning Mass.
