Waco, TX

Oct 1, 2021

Thanks to the invitation of Bishop Joe Vasquez, as well as the generous support of Fr. Ryan Higdon and St. Louis Catholic Church, four Sisters began their first year in Waco, Texas! The Sisters are teaching at Bishop Louis Reicher Catholic School, a Pre-K through 12th grade classical school attached to St. Louis Catholic Church. Sr. Maximilian Marie (theology) and Sr. Maria Benedicta (humanities) teach at the Upper School, while Sr. Maria Francisco (middle school math) and Sr. Mary Rita (2nd grade) teach at the Lower School.

Waco has truly given a warm welcome to the Sisters! They have continually been greeted with smiles and cries of “Sisters! We have been praying for ten years that you would come to Waco.” Mr. Rob Whitworth and Mr. Blake Evans at Bishop Louis Reicher, along with all the priests and parishioners of St. Louis, have outdone themselves to make the Sisters’ first year in Waco a beautiful and memorable one. The Sisters look forward to seeing all that the Lord has in store for them in central Texas!

In 1997, John Cardinal O’Connor of New York canonically established the Dominican Sisters of Mary, Mother of the Eucharist as a community of religious women.

Our apostolate follows upon preaching and teaching the Truth in order to gain souls for the Kingdom of Christ.
