Opening Wide our Doors to Christ…Deep in the Heart of Texas

Dec 27, 2018
Featured, News, Texas Post

In 1997, there were four. These founding Sisters began with nothing but faith and obedience to God’s call.  From the start, the Lord drew young women to Himself through our brand new community, the Dominican Sisters of Mary, Mother of the Eucharist.

In phases, our Motherhouse in Ann Arbor was built to house the steady stream of vocations seeking to give Christ all, to form young souls, and to serve His Church. As more young women entered, the Motherhouse was soon overflowing.

Through God’s divine providence and the sacrificial generosity of many, construction of the first phase of a new Religious House in Texas began, with the aim of accommodating our growing numbers.

It is fitting that as we enter into the hopeful season of Advent, we share our own news of hope and joy. We are now busy with the finishing touches as well as planning the Blessing of our new Texas home!

To God Himself and to the many gracious benefactors who made this possible, we humbly offer fitting and sincere thanks. We hope you will rejoice with us in this significant and indeed historic milestone as the Holy Spirit continues to breathe life into our foundresses’ original vision to spread the witness of religious life across the country. To God be the glory!

See the progress of our Texas Religious House!
