This 2021-2022 school year marked a new beginning as we opened our mission on Long Island. Our community was founded in New York City in 1997 so it is a joy and a privilege to open our first mission in New York. We are very grateful to the many benefactors who have helped provide the Sisters with a beautiful convent at St. Hyacinth Church in Glen Cove. The Diocese of Rockville Centre has welcomed our community with open arms and already the Sisters have been able to serve in a variety of ways.

Four Sisters are teaching at the schools of St. Mary’s in Manhasset: two at the College Preparatory High School and two at St. Mary’s Elementary School. We teach theology and Spanish at the high school and teach at the middle school level in the elementary school. We enjoy providing students with many opportunities to encounter Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament. We aid their growth in the virtuous life by assisting with retreat days and preparing students for reception of the Sacraments. A spring highlight was a retreat the Sisters hosted for many young women to discern their vocation. We are excited to see the ways the Lord will use our presence on Long Island to draw our students and the diocese closer to Himself.
