You can support the mission and apostolates of the Dominican Sisters of Mary, Mother of the Eucharist in a variety of ways.
One way you can support our community is to prayerfully consider making a gift pursuant to our 2017 Annual Appeal. To learn more, click here.
Regardless of your form of support, please know of our tremendous gratitude for your generosity. Also know that we pray in a special way each Friday for our many supporters!
Our Dominican family is rich in saints and blesseds who have left us heroic examples of fidelity to Christ and His Church.
A cash gift may take the form of a one-time donation, or you may elect to spread your gift out over an extended period of time (see “Give Regularly” below). If you itemize deductions on your federal tax return, you may be able to deduct the amount of a cash donation from your adjustable gross income. Please consult your tax advisor for deduction requirements and limitations relating to your specific situation.
Making your gift over an extended payment period may enable you to make a more substantial contribution and tailor your specific giving plan to your needs. Generally, gifts may be spread out up to a five-year payment period. Cash payments pursuant to such pledges may be deductible from your adjustable gross income in the year in which they are made.
Please consult your tax advisor for deduction requirements and limitations relating to your specific situation.

Have you considered the benefits of donating appreciated securities? With the buoyant Stock Market of 2017 and uncertainty surrounding the current Federal tax proposals, now might be a particularly ideal time to consider donating appreciated stock before the end of 2017.
While we recommend you consult your financial advisor before making any such gift, some of the benefits of donating appreciated stock to our community can include:
- Taking a charitable deduction equal to the market value of the donated shares for those itemizing deductions.
- Locking in investment gains prior to any potential stock market down-turn without having to pay capital gains tax.
- Using the donation to establish a Charitable Gift Annuity to generate income to you for the rest of your life.
- The ease in making such a stock transfer.
- The satisfaction of supporting our many Sisters preaching and teaching the Truth to all whom they encounter.
For transfer instructions, please contact Bob Marcarelli at our Mission Advancement Office at (734) 930-4222 or email [email protected]
There are a number of ways to make a planned – or “legacy” – gift to our community, including donating through your Will, Estate Plan or Life Insurance Policy; donating Real Estate of Closely-Held Stock or through a Charitable Gift Annuity (CGA) or other types of Annuity Contract. Please consult your financial advisor when considering any form of planned gift.
Do you desire to help the Sisters more, but can’t right now?
For many people, limited disposable income and life’s uncertainties make it challenging to give as much as their heart desires. A will or living trust bequest is an ideal way to help the Sisters for years to come by transferring cash, stock, real estate, life insurance policies or retirement funds.
Hate Paying Taxes? Are you facing a required IRA Distribution?
Retirees age 70½ and older can donate up to $100,000 tax-free from required IRA distributions annually. If donated, such distributions are excluded as ordinary income from federal income tax. This may be especially attractive for retirees not needing IRA-distributed income for current living expenses.
Are you aware that by giving a gift you can also receive an income for life?
A Charitable Gift Annuity is a wonderful way to help the Sisters while getting get a tax deduction and a lifetime stream of income. We would be happy to provide you a free proposal detailing your projected income and potential tax deduction.
Are you thinking “Planned Giving is too complicated?”
Charitable Remainder Trusts, Lead Trusts, Life Estates and on and on … the sheer number of options may seem overwhelming, yet there may be an ideal plan for you. It doesn’t have to be complicated. If you are willing to share some information, we can help you by offering planned giving solutions for you to review with your financial advisor.
If you would like more information, please call our Mission Advancement Office at (734) 930-4222.
Many corporations and businesses will match the charitable contributions made by their employees to a non-profit organization. Check with your employer to see if they offer a matching gift program. If they do, request a matching gift form from them, and send it completed and signed with your gift to the “Donate by Mail” address above.
We are deeply grateful to all those who support our mission and specifically our fundraising efforts with the spiritual gift of their prayers. Thank you for your interest in our mission and your desire to assist us. May God reward your generosity!
